Great Lakes Board Company is Chicago's Premier Stand-up Paddle Board and Surf business. Stand-up Paddle Boarding, a cross between Surfing and Kayaking, is fun, safe, easy to learn, and offers an unparalelled workout. Located on the Glencoe Beach, we offer Stand-up Paddle Board Rentals, Lessons, Fitness classes and Group tours. With qualified instructors and specialized equipment, we have every confidence you will be up and enjoying yourself in no time. These activities are offered everyday 10-6. Our surf lessons are on a first come first served basis. With the weather being as unpredictable as it is, it is hard to plan an exact day for a lesson. Thus we created an email update list which we send out when conditions permit lessons to be taught. Swells may only last for a few hours so if you snooze you lose!. Yet with the recent publicity surfing in Chicago has received, there has been a positive outpooring of people eager to learn to surf on the Great Lakes. This business was founded based on the notion that people should get out and do stuff. Many people do not know this but the Great Lakes have more coastline than the rest of the U.S. combined, over 11,000 miles. Chicago is sitting smack dab on an amazing natural resource and it is ashamed more people don't take advantage of it. Here at Great Lakes Board Company, we are introducing people to a new and exciting way to experience what Lake Michigan has to offer.
