While it's great to get out for some adventure, what's most important is feeling at home with who we are and where we are in the moment.
To find this home within ourselves, holistic nutrition counselor and life coach Frances Murchison of Lake Forest, author of "Breathe. See. Nourish. Energize : A Pathway to Healing," recommends a mindful walk—no matter what the weather—filled with deep breaths and affirmations.
Repeat these words to yourself: "I have arrived. I am home. I am free in this moment."
"Taking in oxygen, moving the body and offering these affirmations help us return to center and re-collect ourselves," Murchison says. "We spend so much time operating from the neck up. Connecting our body to our mind and spirit helps us to recognize our home is within. This balance leads to wholeness."
