5 Fabulous Margaritas on the North Shore

There’s a school of thought that says there’s no such thing as a bad margarita.

Au contraire, my friends. I’ve had plenty of them. Of course that didn’t stop me from drinking them!

But life’s too short not to have the best Margaritas possible. And what better day to imbibe that perfect combination of tequila, orange liqueur and fresh lime juice than February 22, National Margarita Day?

Here’s where to belly up to the bar:

That Little Mexican Café
, Evanston
I love their Porfirio margarita, served up in a martini glass. Smooth and delicious.

Depot Nuevo, Wilmette
The classic margarita is excellent here, but I love the Pomegranate as well.

Zapatista, Northbrook
After two, I couldn’t remember what I was drinking.

Guanajuato, Glencoe
Get fancy and have them make it with one of their zillions of tequilas. Each one tastes slightly different!

Casa Bonita, Libertyville
Icy, limey and thirst-quenching. The perfect foil for salty tortilla chips.
